Birth: I am very happy to take on birth doula clients up to around an hour's drive from my home address; that means most of West Yorkshire, and into some of the surrounding counties. Any further away than this can sometimes be problematic when it comes to being on call; even locally, it can take me up to an hour and a half to arrive once I've been called (allowing for arranging childcare, travel time, possible congestion etc). Living further apart adds to that time significantly. However, I am flexible when needs be, and I have worked further afield in the past. If you feel I am the right doula for you, and I feel that you are the right clients, then we can usually make it work. This is especially true when it comes to elective induction/caesareanbirths, as these are rather more planned than spontaneous births.
Postnatal: I currently only provide postnatal support to clients who have accessed birth doula support. Because of my family circumstances, I am limited to a half an hour drive for postnatal support. As I live close to the motorway that means I can travel further in some directions than others. Therefore, it would be best to ask me during one of our antenatal sessions whether I can provide you with postnatal support, and how that might work. I charge mileage for distances over 5 miles.
Full-Spectrum: I offer full-spectrum services within Bradford, Halifax and Leeds.
